Spinning and Indoor Cycling


At Midlothian Athletic Club, we offer indoor cycling (Spinning® ) classes that will challenge the most important muscle of your body, your heart! Indoor cycling classes provide a cardio challenge while minimizing wear and tear on the joints. Indoor cycling is truly the most inclusive class of all since each rider is in control of their individual intensity. This allows each rider to work at their own desired intensity in any class.

We value Spinning® at our health club, which is why we are an officially licensed Spinning® facility. This means MAC has the best indoor cycling bikes endorsed by Spinning®, and the majority of our instructors are certified by the Spinning® program. The Spinning® program is the global leader in indoor cycling training, education and equipment. Uniquely tailored to suit a wide range of abilities and fitness goals, the Spinning® program and patented Spinner® bikes deliver a personalized workout, incredible calorie burn and personal challenge-all at a self-directed pace.

Spinning®: Get your sweat on to time or music-based aerobic endurance conditioning and anaerobic interval training motivated by expert instruction! (Our instructors hold a current Spinning® certification from Mad Dogg Athletics). Classes focus on drills that build power and endurance on the bike and brief, high intensity bursts that push past your anaerobic threshold to increase your cycling power! As for all indoor cycling classes, members are encouraged to use individual power and/or heart rate zones to make the class personally challenging and beneficial. Water bottles are recommended. HIIT Spin®: a quick indoor cycling class that ramps up the intensity by offering high intensity interval training for 30 minutes. An accelerated warm up starts the class, and we hit the intervals straight away to maximize our time under tension. Intermediate-Advanced

Spin® and Strength: a 60-minute combination cycling and strength class that begins with approximately 30 minutes of cardiovascular work intervals of varying intensity on the bike and concludes with 20-25 minutes of muscle-sculpting strength training in a separate space. Options provided for all levels.

Low Impact Ride: 30-minute cycling class designed to pump the heart within the aerobic energy zone to build the rider’s aerobic base. This class is perfect for all levels of fitness and is a great place to start adding indoor cycling into your workout routine. All levels

Les Mills:

Sprint™: is a 30-minute High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout, using an indoor bike to achieve fast results. It’s a short, intense style of training where the thrill and motivation come from pushing your physical and mental limits. You combine bursts of intensity, where you work as hard as possible, with periods of rest that prepare you for the next effort. It’s a high intensity, low impact workout that is scientifically proven to return rapid results. Intermediate-Advanced.
